Default Attention NYC OOTers: Need some quick Shea Stadium advice

Hopefully someone can answer quickly before my buddy orders tickets...

We are going to NYC this weekend to see Dispatch, and we decided to take in a Mets game Sunday afternoon. We are of course Red Sox fans so only plan to buy $20 tickets to get in the stadium, my question is what are the best $20 seats, or do they all suck and we should upgrade to some $31s:

UPPER RESERVED $20
LOGE RES BACK ROWS $20
MEZZ RES BACK ROWS $20
UP RES NO ALCOHOL $20 (clearly not an option)
MEZZANINE RESERVED $31
UPPER BOX $31

Thanks in advance...

Most loge and mezz seats are covered. More important than the level, however, is how close to home plate the seats are. Section 0-6 or so upper reserved are probably better seats than lots of mezz or loge options.

For Loge and Mezz reserve back rows, you can't see fly balls. They are blocked out by the overhang (the level above you). I would rather sit anywhere other than the back rows of Loge or Mezz unless those back rows were near home plate. As between Upper Box, Mezz Reserved, and Upper Reserved, I'd choose the one that was closest to home plate ... Upper Box is the first few rows of the upper deck, so I'd lean there over Mezz Reserved and Upper Reserved, all things being equal.

By the way, Shea sucks hard.

Another suggestion: While in Queens, hit the Bohemian Beer Garden before and after the game. It used to be much cooler than it is now, but a huge outdoor space with $15 pitchers of the best Czech beers...

Take the subway to shea, not the LIRR. The 7 train leaves from 42nd street, follow all the Mets fans, you can't miss it
