Default OOT, I need a new cell phone.

I recently lost my Motorola Q phone:

I hated this piece of [censored]. I had three of them because of broken batteries, broken charger port, broken phone in general, and so forth. I'm on the Verizon network and therefore I can't get anything new because Verizon doesn't use SIM cards like the backwater idiotic company they are. Switching is not an option because I love Verizon's data rates, and my company is on their plan anyway.

I've been searching Craigslist and Ebay for some good phones, and older Treo 650's seem okay. What I need in a phone are the following aspects:

-Good battery life (at least 24 hours of regular use before a charge is necessary)
-Full QWERTY (sp?) keyboard
-MMS is required, so no "buhhh get an iPhone" recommendations
-Good Internet surfing capabilities
-It can run on the Windows Mobile or Palm OS, I don't care really (more familiar with Windows, though)
-Bluetooth Internet link capable (so I can use Verizon data plan on my tethered laptop via bluetooth)

Your recommendations? Price isn't that big of an issue, but I'd like to spend $100-400 for a second-hand phone, since I refuse to buy from the Verizon store.

lol "QWERTY (sp?)" lolol

Samsung SCH-i730

"The well-designed i730 is destined to give the Treo 650 a run for its money."

It looks like this phone has everything you need, and it's the highest rated Verizon phone on Cnet. This is what they have to say about it:

[ QUOTE ]

The good: Five-way wireless support (IrDA, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, CDMA 1xRTT, and EV-DO); speakerphone; comfortable slide-out QWERTY thumb keyboard; two batteries included; excellent third-party software support.

The bad: No support for modem use with a laptop; Wi-Fi and phone can't work simultaneously; Wi-Fi is a battery hog; no camera in initial Verizon release.

The bottom line: Small, light, and powerful, the Samsung SCH-i730's high-speed data support and built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi make it an excellent choice for those who have to stay connected at all times, though the crippled Bluetooth support may spoil the party for laptop road warriors.

I dont have any first hand knowledge of the Samsung, but I had a 650 for a while and upgraded to the 700W almost a year ago and really like it. Windows Mobile is smooth to use, IE is decent for surfing, etc. The only issue I have is it sometimes loses its "sync" for emails, requiring a soft reset. Camera is decent, and it has MMS.

Not sure on the bluetooth as my laptop doesnt have it, but I did find a 3rd party software that allows me to use a USB cable and turns the 700 into a modem. (they also have this for the 650)

IMHO the 700W is light years better than the 650.

Cliff notes: Get the 700w, my 0.02

Bluetooth tethering ability is not totally necessary, as a USB cable will suffice (it should charge it too, which is a nice feature). However, Bluetooth by itself is definitely necessary for object push/pull and GPS.

I'll check it out though.
