1st level WSOP ME w JJ
This hand was not mine, but I am friends with the player. We disagree on the play of the hand and I wanted to see what you think... Comments on all streets are welcome.
effective stacks ~20k 2nd position min raises to 200. One caller then I raise to 600 w J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] from button. Folds around to 2nd position min raiser who re-raises to 2000. The first guy calls and I call. The flop is K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2nd position leads for 6k. Guy between us folds and accidently exposes his pocket 10s. I think for a few minutes and call. The turn is 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] and 2nd position pushes and has me covered by 600 chips. What range do you assign him, do you call? |

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
RAISE MORE PREFLOP UGH, hate the sweetener raise there. I'd make it 1K to go, then my response to UTG minraiser depends on his action there.
As played, I think is range is AK, AA, KK, QQ. Even if he has AK, I think the push means it's AK with Ad. I disgustedly fold to the turn push. Any past history on this guy would help to see what the chances are that he's ramming and jamming with AK or AA here. |

fold preflop [/ QUOTE ] I'm assuming you must mean the 2nd time, as folding JJ to a minraise when you're on the button is beyond even McEvoy. But the second time, you are needing to put in 1400 more with a chance to win 20000 if you set up (unless of course you make bottom set here, and villain indicates he has overset). I don't see how this is a fold this deep in position. I can see arguments for folding AK here, but not JJ. |

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
Anyone else give serious consideration to folding the flop?
edit: folding pf is bad. no, my two statements are not contradictory |

Re: 1st level WSOP ME w JJ
You are toast preflop. His range is squarely AA/KK/QQ here. First off I don't get the raise to 600 after the minraise and the caller, I'm making it in the 1k to 1200 range.
Once we get to the point where the other guy makes it 2200 I'm mucking as like I said we are praying he has AK or just playing for set value. If there is any time to muck a flop with a set this is the one. |

But I think he has AK, AA a lot on the flop bet. The turn push is what is more scary. |
