Your favorite columnists
Assuming TLDR is full of newspapery people, who are some of your favorite columnists / editorialists.
A couple of local Las Vegans make my list: John L. Smith - Does the Las Vegas metro beat. His history goes back to the mob days. Vin Suprynowicz - Uber-Libertarian. Always fun to read, and challenges some of the basic notions many have about government. Human Matters with Steven Kalas - Formerly a priest and now a counselor, I find him witty and insightful. I also try to read Thomas Friedman every week. So TLDR, who makes your list? |

Re: Your favorite columnists
Three that I try to read regularly...
1. Mitch Albom - Detroit Free Press - Mostly a sports columnist but ventures into other areas as well. 2. Clarence Page - Syndicated - Good editorials 3. Tony Kornheiser - Washington Post sports columnist. |

Re: Your favorite columnists
Not a newspapery guy anymore, and any haven't been for columnists(L.A. Times not a fave for that) for some time. Magazines, though.
I like Lewis Lapham, and The Atlantic and Harpers frequently have steady contributions coming in from good writers, like Christopher Hitchens. On the last page of The Atlantic, I think it is, there's a column about odd words and word usage I like, but I don't remember the author's name. |

Re: Your favorite columnists
I don't read my newspaper much, but online my favorite columnists are the movie reviewers at www.pajiba.com. These people are the snarkiest, funniest, most honest movie critics in the world.
