Re: Stud Hi Bankroll Question
Hi,
Technically there isn't a proper answer for your question, as we would need to know your standard deviation. Now that I have that disclaimer out there... If you are new to the game but are serious about learning.. I have always used 400 big bets as a decent start for stud. Regards, CJ |

Re: Stud Hi Bankroll Question
Need to clear the air here.
If you're playing 1/2 you do not need a BANKROLL (sorry no italics) you are not paying bills and making a living on poker at this level. What you are asking about is your buy in. A bankroll is for professionals and their bankroll usually amounts to as much as 10 to 50 buy ins. Depending on the buy-in amount of BB, but a bankroll is usually from 300 to 1000BB total. A big bet is the bigger bet if unsure. 1/2 means 2 is the big bet. A buy in is anywhere from 20 to like 50 BB, I recommend 20BB. So for 1/2 40 and 2/4 80 O |

If you're playing 1/2 you do not need a BANKROLL [/ QUOTE ]You might, however, WANT a bankroll. I maintain a bankroll to keep my poker money separate from the rest of my finances. To be honest, $100 is fairly meaningful to me outside of poker, but I'm not bothered by dropping $100 out of my bankroll because I know that variance will cause this to happen from time to time, but that I stand to get it back with interest eventually. This would be much rougher if I were paying for my poker losses out of my paycheck. |
