well ok i'll post my reasoning here and then you guys can tear it apart.
I'm about 1:20 to hit on the turn, and his bet size was $45. Meaning that, the 19 times i miss will cost me $855. Seems like a call if there's a guarantee that i can stack him... but obviously there's no guarantee there. I figure, that IF i hit, i can't stack him enough to make it +ev, so i'm thinking fold. But while i was thinking this, the BB was taking his sweet time and then decided to cold call the $90. With his extra 90 giving me better pot odds and his $600 stack giving me better implieds, correct mathematical play is a call yes? |

SB could me minraising a lot of hands that he isn't going to play for stacks, like A8 and stuff raising to "see where your at." BB probably has just a draw or something. You can't really profitably call to hit a 2 outer unless you knew SB had AJ.

It seems like your reads would have to be absolutely spot on to make this call +EV (and even still, it may only be slightly +EV).
However: (1) One of the villains may have a set (2) Even if you hit your two outer, you may not get paid off (3) Even if you hit your two outer and get all the money in, villains may have redraws. |
