Default Best luxury sedan/coupe around $70 to $80K

I am currently in the market for a car in this range. Not wild about the Mercedes S class. I have kind of narrowed it down to the BMW 7 series, the BMW 6 series (sports coupe) and the Audi A8. Anyone have any opinions? The Audi is a little slower, but seems a little more unique.

I would love the Masserati, but it's a little rich for my blood.

BTW, if some interpret this as a brag post, that's not my intention. (I am leasing and can write off at least 80% for my business)

Any help is appreciated.

Holy crap that car looks badass! Is that $85K with everything I need? How does that compare to the BMW M5? Are the 2008's available now?

Not quite sure. I would like a little sportier look. That E63 AMG has definitely gotten my interest though. My local Rusnak dealer has it listed as $93K for the internet price though.

I've always liked the BMW 7 series, but I like the idea of a smaller, faster car. Has anyone driven/looked at the Audi A8.

If I can get the E63 for $85K, that might be the one for me.

E63 V M5 - Most people will say the M5 is a better car but thats not to say the E63 wont have its fans. Both cars are flawed in that they wont offer anywhere near the luxury of a ls/s/7/a8. They do offer more performance but this again is compromised due to them all being executive sedans.

If you want a executive sedan with some poke then the M5 is way ahead of the competition with respect to performance. Though they have had problems with the gear box. The E63's suspension and brakes let it down compared to the M5 but many prefer it because of the image/brand/baller aspect.

Sounds like the A8 isn't your car, most people know if they want one. As someone else said the LS460 is a great piece of kit but it sounds to me that you would prefer european/german?

The M6 is a whole lot of fun.

Decide what you want from the car and then choose. Others to look at include the Aston Martin V8, Porsche 911 (not my personal taste but don't let that stop you), any Maserati or maybe you would like an E320/535 and a 25k track day car ie clubman, radical etc

Hope I helped in some way. Enjoy the car and buy the one you can't stop thinking about.

I'd go with the Audi. I really don't understand all the Audi hate.

Getting an A6 soon myself. A8 is too big for me, and I can't afford it lol.

Anyway,I always have a hard time navigating Edmunds... That site is so unintuitive. Here's a JD Power link for the A8:

Compared to other cars in its class:

You should definately drive the LS460. Its a great value for around 72k. The car is super smooth riding and very fast and luxurious. PMMe for more info.
