Suggestions for Tourney Structures in Florida
I thought it may be good to list some suggestions for desired tourney structures. I know there are a few Card Room managers, Dealers, Tourney Directors that monitor this site and may appreciate hearing from the players (LOL) as to what we would like to see in terms of:
Buy-ins Rebuys starting chip counts, etc. I'll start by suggesting a 4 table (10 players per) $75(tourney fee) Buyin with 1 rebuy up to the 3rd level. T5000 Blinds 100/200 15 minute levels blind dble each level Ante 100 at 1000/2000 level Ante dbles each level Payout top 4 or 5 depending on rebuys Could start at 6:00 and be done before midnight |

Re: Suggestions for Tourney Structures in Florida
They need 45 minute structres at the very least and nothing more than an 11% rake!!!
LONGER STRUCTURES and LESS RAKE!! |

Re: Suggestions for Tourney Structures in Florida
Each place should plan on having at least ONE big tourney per week/month.
Again, with very good structures, decent stacks, and nothing more than an 11% rake! |

Re: Suggestions for Tourney Structures in Florida
Fish most these places are only open 12 hours. 45 min blinds would take 9 hours or more. Most of them go to the 5000-100000 level when you are at the final table (many of the times more). That would take 9 hours to get to that level (not counting breaks). I think 30 min would be the longest they could feasible do. Unless the starting stack was 2500 or so. I would rather have longer blind levels because I think I can outplay 70% of the people in these rooms but I just dont think it is doable for these tracks.

This would require a team of 4 dealers always be available which would decrease the hourly rate of the dealers and would be a poor use of staff. In addition, why would any business want to limit it's income to just 40 players when they could easily fill up more tables with players who are willing to spend money on rake and food/beverage. Don't look to see things common in online rooms replicated in a live environment. You're not likely to see multi-table SNGs beyond, perhaps, 2 table games... and I think even those are a stretch. There are certain types of games that online rooms can offer easily that you won't often see replicated in a live environment where the cost/proper use of labor and bottom lines are a major factor. |

[/ QUOTE ] Are there more Card rooms that dedicate dealers to the tourneys? I have been to 3 on the East Coast and only 1 uses that practice. The others just keep the tourney tables in a dealers rotation and they sign into the table and get a % of the tip out. It seems to me that keeping dedicated dealers IS a waste of labor and screws the tip out ratio slightly. A suggestion for any TD's observing this forum: Publish your tourney structures in advance of the touneys. It is VERY frustrating when nobody knows exactly for sure which structure will be in place for a given event. IT DOES MATTER to those who consider the structures before they buy into an event. |

Re: Suggestions for Tourney Structures in Florida
OK Fishhead and all others- here is the structure for our single table tournaments and weekend MTT's...
SNG's will be offered with the following details: SNG 1 $65 BUYIN= $250 1ST, $150 2ND, $100 3RD. 10 PLAYERS, 1500 CHIPS, 10 MINUTE BLINDS....THIS IS OUR TURBO. 23% RAKE. SNG 2 $115 BUYIN=$500 1ST, $300 2ND, $200 3RD. 10 PLAYERS 2000 CHIPS, 15 MINUTE BLINDS 13% RAKE SNG 3 $220 BUYIN= $1000 1ST,$600 2ND,$400 3RD. 10 PLAYERS 2500 CHIPS, 15 MINUTE BLINDS---9% RAKE- Grinders best play IMHO...if Roll allows--- level of play plus under 10% rake makes for +EV here SNG 4 $325 BUYIN= $1500 1ST,$900 2ND,$600 3RD. 10 PLAYERS 2500 CHIPS, 15 MINUTE BLINDS---7.7% RAKE- another nice play for 20 to 50 buyin rolls. SNG 5 $530 BUYIN= $2500 1ST,$1500 2ND,$1000 3RD. 10 PLAYERS 3000 CHIPS, 15 MINUTE BLINDS---5.66% RAKE- If roll allows, the best play to mathematically beat the game and maximize your ROI over large sample size... SO THE AVERAGE RAKE FOR THESE 5 SNG'S IS 11.67%. NO HIDDEN JACKPOT MONEY TAKEN FROM THE SNG'S AS PLAYERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR JACKPOTS IN SNG'S. HERE are the weekend tourneys...
