NL200: Was this fold too nitty?
Villain is 28.13/4.38, with a flop af of only .78. I HATED folding this, but was it right? On a totally ragged flop I probably call, but I'm really only beating QQ. AA is much more likely. He could also have JJ. With his stats, I thought the 4-bet PF screamed AA and when he pushed the flop I felt even more strongly he had AA. Thoughts?

Re: Was this fold too nitty?
Hero raises to $45.00, MP3 raises to $76.00
Why call 4bet if you're folding flop? Doesn't make sense. Shove or fold here, and having in mind his stats of 4PFR and low aggression min 4bet screams AA, so I don't mind a fold. |

Re: Was this fold too nitty?
I'd fold to the 5-bet PF if you're not snapcalling this.

[ QUOTE ]
Hero raises to $45.00, MP3 raises to $76.00, [/ QUOTE ] To me, this is the point where you need to decide. Does he have aces? If you are 71.2% sure he does then fold. Otherwise, push your KK. Calling is no good because you are either giving up more money when you have 2 outs (if he has aces) or you are letting him see the flop before he decides to commit more chips (with AK or QQ) and could get away from a hand easier if the flop is bad for him. Personally, I think he has aces more than 70% of the time so I fold. I think this because he has 4.38 PF Raise % so he doesn't seem like the type to 4 bet with less than aces. |

Am I stupid or am I missing something... You just got 5 bet by a <5% pfr... He has AA here like always..
I just call his 3 bet and play poker after the flop. Since you 4 bet, I fold to the 5 bet. The way that you played it the flop is standard. SMS |

"I just call his 3 bet and play poker after the flop" you think his 3 bet range is only AA? |

Jesus Christ. Do not call the last preflop raise if you're going to fold this flop.

Re: NL200: Was this fold too nitty?
OK, let me think about this a little more. I assume that the number of hands is sufficient to be realistic.
He raises (not 3 bets but raises) the top 6-8 hands or so. This assumes that he steals the blinds every once in a great while. So he raises AA, KK, QQ, AK, JJ, AQs, maybe TT in position and some variable other stuff depending on position. As for the hand, He 3-bets, although very small, after a limper AND a raiser from middle position. He probably doesn't have KK since there is only 1 possible combination of KK. I doubt that a 4% pfr'er 3bets AQ or TT and AK is even questionable. JJ is questionable but doubtful. So what does that leave, AA or QQ. If you 4 bet he folds most hands you beat and calls with only AA. It sounds strange, but my standard line here is to call the 3 bet and b/f this flop. I can guarantee that villian never raises the flop without AA after you call the 3-bet and bet the flop. Extra Bonus: You actually have odds to play KK for set value and strange as that sounds... As for the actual hand, after the 5 bet this is an EASY fold. He doesn't 5 bet anything but AA. Thoughts? SMS |
