Default Paris, LV to close poker room

One of their dealers just came into our place looking for work today telling us that the Monday after July 4th weekend will be the closing date for the Paris poker room. This is the third time I've heard the same thing this week. It was straight from a Paris employee mouth two of the three times. I'd say this is confirmed.

Can't say I didn't warn ya in another post. IP to follow this one soon it sounds like too.

No suprise there. They did a horrible disservice to the poker room by moving it to its current location.

Poker boom is over. We all knew that.

I was there a month ago, and when I went by there were only a few people at the table waiting for more people to show.

When I was there (stayed at Bally's) it was doing OK. Bellagio, Caesar's, and Mirage were going strong.

I just got this email from a poker room supervisor at Paris:
[ QUOTE ]

Just a quick note: FYI - the Paris poker room is NOT
scheduled to close. The things you've heard are
over-inflated rumors gone out of control. Paris is NOT scheduled to close. You can consider me to be a reputable source in the matter, as one of the few supervisors there. You could do us a huge favor by removing from your site any hint or mention of our room closing so people aren't having seeds planted in their mind.

[/ QUOTE ]

I guess RR or TT can lock this thread now. I just found it wierd their own employees were out looking for work and telling everyone the room is being axed.

It's like whoever set up the new room in Paris wanted to punish the poker room manager. I doubt you could make the room worse if you tried. Cram the tables in there so tight that you can't get to the desk/cage. Bellagio is spacious in comparison. Oh, and put the sign-up desk back in the far corner so that anyone casually stumbling upon the poker room after getting lost in the casino would not want to work their way back there to ask any questions. The bonus is the noise. Wherever it's coming from, it's so loud that you have to shout just to communicate at your own table, never mind the floor being able to hear you or the dealers yelling.

[/ QUOTE ] I think its fairly certain that most of the blame belongs to the poker room manager (understand that position is jsut one of her many duties).

Seems like she wants to get rid of her poker duties then.
