Default Heart problems?

Why am I asking about heart problems here? Cause I don't really think I have any. I'm looking for reassurance that everything is ok. If I don't get it I'll have to rethink through.

Most of the time I don't feel my heart beating. It's just there doing it's job. But sometimes all of a sudden I can feel it beat inside my chest. I think this is normal. Is this normal?

Just now I was lying in my bed trying to sleep when I started feeling my heart beating. Then unexpectedly it started beating super-fast, like 3 times per second for ten seconds or so before everything got back to normal. Is this healthy, or should I suspect that my heart is not in good health?

Do not listen to Phil. Phil apparently wants you to die. Healthy people do sometimes have skipped heart beats, extra beats, brief periods of increased rates. This is normal and EVERYONE has this to some greater or lesser degree. Healthy people also will occasionally experience chest pain that they attribute to their heart. Almost never is actually coming from the heart. If it really bothers you, obv go see a doctor.

If he's so stupid that he comes to OOT for cardiovascular advice I think we should just let him go...

This makes no sense after reading my comments and yours.

By a GP's definition of healthy, sure. If you don't have a diagnosable disease, then you're healthy.

And healthy young people should not skip heart beats. Ever. Extra beats/intermittent weak beats are normal but generally only happen under stress.

Lol, I'll inform the cardiologists. They will be surprised. You have thoroughly pawned me, sir. NH.

Edit: I'll be sure to give you a nice citation, phil

I get this sometimes, and assumed it was pretty standard but I could be wrong too. The random fast heart beat, or the short periods of pain around the heart for no reason are something I think most people have happen.

I get random, short heart pains occasionally. Good to know its common. I did tell my doctor about it last time I went and she said everything was fine.
