33 at NL 25: What do I do when he checks?
So this is possibly a simple question, but it struck me tonight that I don't know the answer. I mean, if he bets, I either call and slowplay for the time being or raise immediately, and I think there's a case to be made for both of those options, and I tend to mix it up. But when he checks, well, maybe there's even a clearer correct answer, but I'm not sure what it is.
Anyway, my opponent is 24/15/1.2 after 82. That's how it is, even at NL25, post-ban . PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP ($27.25) CO ($44.35) Hero ($51.15) SB ($31.20) BB ($7.40) UTG ($24.40) Preflop: Hero is Button with 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 2 folds, CO raises to $1, Hero calls $1, 2 folds. Flop: ($2.35) 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) CO checks . . . And now Hero does what, and why? |

Re: 33 at NL 25: What do I do when he checks?
i think cases could be made for either, but i prefer betting as building a big pot is in our best interest obviously. He may float the flop with a range of hands, and TT+ is calling (and maybe raising in some cases). So i think betting is best.

Re: 33 at NL 25: What do I do when he checks?
Bet and watch him fold? Blargh. He's showing just crazy weakness here raising and checking. There are no draws, no nothing. Check behind. Hope he fires on turn. You need to get something out of this hand. If he is slowplaying some huge hand here it will go in no matter what, you only need to worry about the hands he check-folds here.

Does he always c/f oop ui when he raised pre? If yes, check behind obv. If he doesnt, bet $1.

Check. When the PFR checks the flop, they're essentially punting the hand. This board hits very little of his range and there are no draws.

villain could be multitabling and forgot that he raised it PF, or he misclicked. I still bet at least $1.5

Re: 33 at NL 25: What do I do when he checks?
you guys are semi deep and you cant ever check this flop behind.
bet $1.50 here. 2/3-3/4s pot on turn. re-evaluate on river and probably a 1/2-3/4 bet on the river depending on whichever you think he will call. |
