Is there such thing as free parking near the boardwalk in Atlantic City? I hate to sound like such a nit but I'd like to know if there are better options than paying $5 for parking every time I want to play at one of the casinos for a few hours.

Step 1: Get a players card from the casino
Step 2: Show players card upon entry into parking facility Step 3: The lady sitting in the little plexiglass box waves you through Step 4: You now have free parking |

The information MSHALEN provided is only true for a couple of casinos. Having a players rewards card does not intitle to you to free parking at many casinos. I have included the link below from a recent discussion on parking in Atlantic City.

free parking is tougher to come by during the AC peak summer season. the harrah's-owned casinos usually don't charge during the fall and winter, but parking is free only to Diamond and Platinum members right now. regular Gold members get "free" parking if they earn 25 base reward credits of play on a gaming day.
trump marina is the only place that might give free parking year round to players, probably because they are so remote and unpopular. |

My only suggestion would be to park on the beach block of Connecticut Avenue if you want to play at HoB/Swbt or Taj. It's about a five-minute walk. Your car will probably be there when you get back. At least mine have always been, but I drive PoSs. Plus, I doubt AC parking enforcement hangs around too much after 6 in the evening, so anywhere you see the 3 Hour Max sign, you can park there from about 4 p.m. onward without fear.

If you do pay the $5, ask for a receipt. You can show the receipt during the same day (6am-6am) and not pay at any other casino. Keep in mind some casinos make you pay as you go in, and others as you leave. The only two I know: Borgata, as you leave; Taj, as you come in.
So if you're leaving the Borg to go to the Taj, pay $5, get receipt, show receipt at Taj. |

Ive parked for free on the streets a few blocks from the casinos... I would recommend paying the $5 to park in the ramps. It's much safer when you got to walk back to the car in the middle of the night with money in your pockets.

I already don't feel safe walking around the parking lots, let alone the streets of AC. |

As of last week, Harrah's Marina, Showboat, and Trump Plaza was still offering free parking to those with a players reward card. For Showboat and Trump Plaza, you need to show the card before you enter the garage.
If you want to be frugle, park at Showboat and take the Total Rewards shuttle to Casears or Harrah's Marina, that will get you to either the center of the boardwalk or marina district. Other option is to park at Trump Plaza, as that will put you at the center of the boardwalk, then it is a 15 minute walk to either end (Hilton/Showboat). Benefits of parking at Trump Plaza is that it is right off the Atlantic City Expressway. If I get bored tonight, I may call each casino and inquire about parking rates and make a post so we can avoid the same question/discussion every day. |

Not near the boardwalk, but as for free parking, you might want to try the corner between New York Avenue and Kentucky Ave.
I'm sorry but this needed to be said. |
