Default Is this a push?

About my third orbit...villian is TAG and hasn't gotten out of line yet. I was wondering if this is a river push? I was really worried about my kicker the whole way since he was in SB. Comments on any street? Thanks.

I'd prefer raising the turn.

What is your line on a reraise? Would you even consider folding?

I think that's what he was getting to, if 3bet/pushed on the turn you can safely fold. If just called and checked to on river, you can most likely value bet.

I don't think the river push gets called by hands you beat, so I think your river action is fine. I'd be more worried about your kicker in a limped pot than a raised one.

Hi cata1yst,

I fold this hand pre-flop. You've got a 5 high, it's not suited, and you're playing it for a raise. I just fold and move on to the next hand, quickly.

As played, you hit about the best possible hand you could with it, and you never raised?

I posted a reply but somehow it got lost.

Fold preflop. 45o should almost never be played, especially against a raise and in early position.

But push by the turn. Pot is adequately big, and the SB seems interested, so go ahead and see if you can stack him. You might be sharing the trips with him, and your kicker's not good. He could have made a full with A4, but I try not to worry about things like this. In this kind of situation, he he has a hand like that, then I'm just gonna have to pay him off.

I would probably be raising on every street. If not the flop, I would definitely be raising the turn. I'd be much more quick to put him on an Ace than some hand like K4 (is TAG protecting his SB with a hand like that?).

Personally, I think you're better off raising the flop and/or the turn rather than waiting till the river to pop it. As played, I think it's somewhat more difficult to define SB's hand here since you were so passive calling down the whole way. I would not consider folding here.

I like the whole hand. Let him overplay AK-AQ and bluff with KK-TT.

I raise the flop and hope to get it all in vs. AK/AQ. No real point in waiting for the turn or river. If he has the ace you want his money now.

This is great. Think for 15 seconds and push river, he's so much more likely to have an A than a 5. He did all the work of pot committing himself for you.

Oh, and don't raise the turn. Raise either the flop or river. Raising the turn screams 'I have a 5' or 'I hit my kicker'.
