Phil Ivey is going deep in the 5k stud event.

Is anyone tracking the overall field sizes vs last year? I know #2 broke the record, but what about 3-12. Where do we stand on field sizes?

News had him as leader with 160k, but then Wattel won a big pot, no details on amount. What's up with the ridiculous lack of chip updates?

Event #3 broke record. Event #2 was the employee nl hold'em.

Edit: Pokerlistings has Ivey listed as busted.

go to bluffmagazine.com or worldseriesofpoker.com for more recently updated chip counts. Its weird though because apparently the chip counts on those websites are powered by pokernews.com and yet they are more recently updated than pokernews.com. Hmmmm...

i'm guessing he's playing like a maniac early. he seems to have been one of the first pros to bust in most of the events so far.

I haven't noticed that. In fact, it seems like he has been trying. He lasted deep into day one of event 1, and he has doubled his starting stack in almost every event he has played from which I recall.

...AND Ivey bust Mr. Chan.

I'll be damned if Marco Tranielli isn't right on Phil's tale, in the process of going deep himself!

Same as last year's Series, Marco continues to confound me by repeatedly cashing in a range of events.
