Do we like this? FWIW, BTN is DDBeast. SB is unknown.
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t40/t80 7 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: t3040 UTG+1: t645 MP1: t1825 CO: t3475 Button: t1660 SB: t1625 Hero: t1230 Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is BB with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 folds, Button raises to t200, SB calls t160 (pot was t320), Hero raises all-in t1230 |

I like it. DDBeast's range for calling a shove is quite a bit smaller than his opening range should be, and 88 has good showdown value when called. SB rarely has a monster here and will fold a lot too, IMO.

Don't like it. Would you do this with QJs (a better hand)? Didn't think so.
e: You are playing this like a MTT. He plays a lot differently then I do but still his range isn't that big. 88 would be a 2:1 dog against my opening range in this spot. |

is 22+, A7s+, ATo+, KJs+, KQo, QJs a good estimation of DDBeasts opening range from the button?
is 99+, AJs+, AQ, AK too tight for a calling range? |

I honestly have no idea what his opening range is. It is tough to comment on the calling range b/c we don't know the history. I would fold QQ if DDBeast were the BB and I opened on the button. If I'm pushing from the BB I might expect him to call me with JJ/AKs or something like that. If there is no history then your range might be totally legit but it all hinges on that.

I like the play.
Questions: QJs > 88? Fold QQ to a resteal in BB vs OTB war? |
