Ask me about Adult/ Running adult websites!
I have been involved in all kinds of niches on the internet, and I started out primarily in webhosting, then moved on to adult. I have been involved in almost every aspect of the industry except for production (though I have a ton of contacts that handle that). I started out pushing traffic to dating/cam sites, and a friend and I started a network of blogs that realy took off. We have a few tgps now, and I have branched off and realy just let him manage things now. With the exception of a paysite I am launching this week I am no longer involved in the day to day managment of things. I decided to take a smaller % and just have him manage it while I handle my other business ventures (real estate, gaming traffic, and other things).
Our network of free sites (tgps, blogs, etc) get about 500k unique hits a day total. We started out with pretty much nothing, and parlayed it into a nice, 5 server cluster full of revenue producing free sites. So ask me any questions you may have outside of which sites I run. I will not disclose any of that (except maybe sites I run on my own) for personal reasons, so please dont ask that. How much can you make in this business? The sky is the limit. You just need to find the right connections, and be willing to learn. I put a ton of time into it at the begining because I simply had no cash to invest. Now that I have money to invest in it it is way easier for me to get a site producing $1k+ monthly. So ask away I am all ears! [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] |

Re: Ask me about Adult/ Running adult websites!
How much marketing is required, or is it all about writing a good tag, and then having good material?
How much stuff in the industry is the same product being sold at many different sites? Morally did you have any problems with it? |

still amazed that people still will pay for pr0n.
----------- how much of your income as a % was derived from people who bought memberships that deducted automatically from their bank account but never bothered to cancel it? what day and time were the highest traffic hits? how many girls did you feature per site? how much did they get paid? |

So you make all of your money off of free sites? Do you get paid per page view by advertisers, or on a commission basis? Either way, roughly how much do you make per 1000 visitors?

Re: Ask me about Adult/ Running adult websites!
IMO this is the toughest market to get into. It is by far the most competitive anyway. The sky is the limit though. I'm still making money off of ads I posted over a year ago.
Making and mangaing the sites isn't hard to do. You can easily set up 10 free gallery posts and have a script(purchased for 100-200ish) do all the work. The tough part is getting the traffic. Setting up trades with other sites, posting on every link dump you can find. It all comes down to how much work you will do. $0 profit is common but so is 1-2k. Then there's the sites with exclusive content. The ones that do really well. They do the filming while the sites above do the advertising for them. The problem is they are all getting sued now. cohf.com which made ~3M a year has just been sued for 1 billion for prostitution and filming indecent content in Miami. Bangbros and the cumfiesta network are being targeted as well. Congrats on your success |

You don't get "sued" for prostitution, you get prosecuted for prostitution by the state, and: 1. The state doesn't try to recover cash, unless they are trying to fine the producers, and I think I would have heard of it if they were seeking a $1 billion fine. 2. Producing adult videos is generally protected by the First Amendment. Some of the girls could conceiveably sue for not giving their consent to be on the interwebs, but I would assume any producer with half a brain would get a signed ironclad consent form. Could you explain this further? P.S. Damn, $3MM a year. |

[/ QUOTE ] Basicaly a free site is where surfers go to find free porn. You tease them with galleries, and some of them end up buying (we get paid by commision on the ones who buy). The market is not as tough as mostpeople think. Sure it gets saturated, but in the end it is a job and most of the fly by nite types are long gone before you know it. You just have to have patience. If noone paid for porn, then no pros would make porn. Meaning there would be no porn for the free loaders. |

Re: Ask me about Adult/ Running adult websites!
Hey,
About 2 years ago i decided to start my own adult webpage. I did and sold mine a few months ago simply because it never sold any. I think my main problem was getting traffic, i set up trades and everything but i didn't have the money to buy traffic. Also it was a dutch site so there's much less crowd for the site. Do you have any advice how to get the traffic going? any other ways besides just buying traffic? Also do you think it's better to just make the page english? And last can you give some opinion on my old page: http://85.12.17.34/~ben23/lol/ Ben |

I would also like to hear how you get to the point where you have quality XXX to 1000 uniques coming in everyday. That seems to be the hardest part. Can you talk down to us a little and tell us where you would go to buy traffic or where you would look to do trades (how do you trade when you don't have much to trade back?)
I plan to start a non-porn website. What tools do you think non-porn sites can use to their advantage that porn providers can't? (ad networks, etc) Lastly, as someone mentioned, porn providers have been at the forefront of web site promotion in the past. What do you see porn sites doing these days that other traditional sites haven't caught on to yet? |
