Default 50NL Flopped straight 300BB deep

I don't post a lot of hands here, because I usually think I know what I'm doing. However, this is a bit out of the ordinary for me since I'm rarely this deep.

CO has fishy stats ~42/11/2.75 over about 100 hands - about 1/2 mined - but has actually played his good hands reasonably well.

I've been LAGy. I got my stack by opening 97s UTG. Flopping pair+FD and stacking a TAG who tried to bluff on the river after I spiked trips. I got some abuse for that and CO was probably remembers the hand.

FWIW CO called the short stack push quickly. Do I 3-bet to protect my hand or call? What's the plan down the line either way?

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.25/$0.50 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $14.20
BB: $55.50
UTG: $22.75
CO: $149.05
Hero (BTN): $131.90

Preflop: Hero is dealt 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 Players)
UTG calls $0.50, CO calls $0.50, Hero raises to $2.75, 2 folds, UTG calls $2.25, CO calls $2.25

Flop: ($9) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players)
UTG checks, CO checks, Hero bets $7.00, UTG raises all-in to $20.00, CO calls $20.00, Hero???

good question? There are alot of cards that can kill the action either way.

I think I reraise to $50-$60 and create a side pot with CO

hero punchs his keyboard, throws everything off the desk, times down and calls.

this call is hugely +ev vs 66-88.

this call is ev neutral vs 54/T9/66-88

this call is -ev vs T9/66-88

don't discount slowplayed overpair trying to teach the LAG a lesson . . .

Thanks guys. Maybe this is a BBV post cos he had the nut straight. Kind of difficult to get away from though. Those multi-way pots play much bigger - especially when some shorty shoves TPTK.

UTG may have him beat with the nutts for the higher straight. CO having a set means hero needs a 5/1 payout or b etter for it to be worth it. Even if they both go allin, he won't make this. This is a fold situation.

Now, if you put CO on 2 pair, a raise is good here. But I am worried about UTG. UTG may be the one with the set.

But, if thats the case the hand just gets more complicated.

My advice, junk this hand preflop everytime. ROFL.
