1/2 8 handed i was new to the game so i had no reads on villian everyone folds to me in CO i raise with A9o button smooth calls blinds both fold
8 10 J i lead button calls 8 10 J A i check raise he three bets i cap 8 10 J A 4 i bet he calls showdown A Q villian A 9 hero was this a lead/call on turn? call river? or was the check raise ok? i thought when he three bet he could have a number of draws and was looking to semi bluff and take control if he missed |

you are way overthinking what a 1/2 player does here. If he was any good you would have been 3 bet preflop.
On the turn you can't get frisky because your high number of outs means you need to call any raise plus you really do want to see a showdown. Putting in additional raises with a medium ace doesn't make sense here. |

Villain isn't flatcalling the flop and bet-3betting the turn with a draw, it just doesn't make sense.
I'd lead the turn in your hand, and if he raised I'd just call down. If I improved on the river I'd just bet out. Don't post results on hands, it dissuades our logic. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img] Good luck to you, hope you enjoy 2p2 |

I used to always wonder why my opponents would pull such move (like your turn cap with a weak hand). Is this something like "my balls are bigger than yours and I will not be reraised" kind of thing?
Yes, it is spew - even against a total maniac that plays any two cards. |
