I drove just under 2200 miles from Atlanta to Las Vegas by myself in about 40 hours (slept for ~3hrs in Norman, OK).
Definite beats; (1) In a '97 Integra with 170k miles (hey- at least it got there). (2) Average Gas price for the trip was somewhere in the 3.30's (3) 22 hours later, can't remember any of the drive other than following a Limo from the Gold Strike Tunica Through Mississippi on US78 going about 110 the whole way. |

Heh, In arizona I saw the first cop since Norman. I was west of Flagstaff (read; middle of freaking nowhere) sitting under an overpass. I had cruise control set at 90 (75 zone) since I got into NM, and had been speeding seriously anytime I had line of sight and saw no cops. Anyway, this cop was facing the eastbound lanes and I saw him as I passed, tapped the brakes just as he was slamming into reverse to come after me. I set cruise at 79 and wait to get pulled over, and he comes up right behind me and tails me for about 30 miles (no joke) I guess it took a while to pull my registration from GA, but twentysomething minutes later, he just pulls around me, I smile and wave and get a mean look in return, and he flips a bitch at the next turnaround.
Gas.....looking at my reciepts..... $237.17, and a half tank left over. |
