Advice for Atlantic City trip
Hello,
I've never been to Atlantic City and planning a trip this June or July for 3-4 days. I'm looking to play poker (low limit cash games & tournaments), but also check out the sites and have a pleasant trip. From what I've gathered the Borgota seems like the place to stay. Is the boardwalk a must see? Will it be easy for me to drive through AC and park in the city/boardwalk? Also hoping to eat at some good upscale restaurants. Tried a search but couldn't find too much. I'll be driving from Massachusetts, thanks! |

Re: Advice for Atlantic City trip
Hi Don,
Visit the White House Sub Shop for lunch. They are located at 2301 Arctic Ave Atlantic City, NJ. Very notalgic place for pretty tasty subs. Also hoping to eat at some good upscale restaurants. What type of food? Is the boardwalk a must see? Yes. |

I would also consider checking out the Tropicana. It's right on the boardwalk, so you'll have access to the nice restaurants in the pier/mall thing in addition to those in the Casino. Plus, the low limit NL games are really soft, as there are fewer regulars than at the Borgata. They also have daily/nightly tournaments with reasonable buyins.

Are you bringing a wife or GF? If so, then stay on the Boardwalk. She will have plenty of shopping opportunities.

Re: Advice for Atlantic City trip
Has anyone ever stayed at the Irish Pub rooms? I might be spending a lot of time in AC this summer (commuting from DC to play) and staying for 3-5 day stretches, and their rates look pretty awesome. I really don't mind a tiny, rathole of a room, just basically need a place to catch a few hours and shower up, since I'll be there to play not vacation. What is the availability like? Any reviews?

[/ QUOTE ] We asked the same question last time in AC. We ended up at the Irish pub after a few long sessions and noticed the cheap room rates. |
