T3000 chip distribution question
I will be having a 10 person T3000 tournament. What would be the best starting stack distribution and blind level. I went to homepokertourney but didn't see anything for a T3000.

Re: T3000 chip distribution question
Well... it really depends on your starting chip stack denominations.
If you are playing with T25/T100/T500/T1000 chips, obviously the lowest blind level you should start at would be 25/50. This would give each player a starting stack of 60bb, which isn't a whole lot. Your stacks could look something like: T25 x 8 T100 x 8 T500 x 4 = T3000 If you are using smaller chips, like T5 or T10, you could start at 5/10 and 10/20 for starting stacks of 300bb & 150bb respectively. |

(He can start at T25/25) Rest of the breakdown is good, though 300BB might be a bit much...unless you have a lot of time to play, or keep doubling the blinds early on. |

Re: T3000 chip distribution question
I would say use $5 chips and 15/30 blinds to start.
Chip setup of: 10x$5 10x$25 7x$100 4x$500 Blinds schedule (20-45 minute blindsdepending how long you want to play for): 15/30 30/60 50/100 75/150 100/200 200/400 300/600 500/1000 etc... If you have lots of players and fewer chips then a 5/7/4/5 chip distribution is your only other option but these chips look a bit short on the table. |

Re: T3000 chip distribution question
just give an extra 2k to the 3k and start off w/ 5k and begin levels at 25/50, 50/100, 75/150. 100/200 and so on... alot of play

Re: T3000 chip distribution question
I would do a 10/20 starting level but I do have t10 and t50 chips. If you don't have those, I suggest 25/50 but increase the starting stack to t5000.
If you have t5 and t25 chips, then start with 5/10 but maybe lower the starting stack. I find wtarting with 100BB almost a minimum and 150BB a good tourney. If time is a consideration, I would chose high BB starting and a steep structure. |

Re: T3000 chip distribution question
If I do 10/10/7/4 with 5/25/100/500 should I start with 10/20 or 15/30? Also do most home tourneys have an ante. I've never held one with an ante but I think it might stimulate action in the later rounds as the group I play with tends to play tight.

If you can, try for 15/13/11/3 with 5/25/100/500. That'll impress the boys and reduce changemaking. 2. You could even start 5/10 then 10/20, 15/30, 20/40, 25/50, chip up 5s and big jump to 50/100. Otherwise, I prefer 150BB to start so 10/20 is for me. Again, good players will be impressed. 3. Most standard tournaments go from 100/200 to 100/200 with ante 25. It is a good idea but you should make sure of a standard procedure for anteing. E.g., dealer collects all antes before dealing the cards. If you have beginners and the button deals (i.e. dealer rotates), then this may slow things down but what the hell, they have to learn eventually. |
