$10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
7 players left. I'm on the button with AQ. Pretty tight & straight forward CO raises to 10K (blinds 2K/4K, no antes), I re-pop to 30K, blinds fold & CO calls.
Flop is 5h, 2s, 3s CO pushes for 35K & I have him covered by 23K. My pre-flop stack was 2nd, his 4th. Is this a call or fold? |

Re: $10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
You are only really happy if he has done this with a flush draw except for As5s. If you have the As, then a flush draw is less likely.
The other scenarios like a set or an overpair don't give you the correct calling odds. I lean to folding. |

Too lazy to figure out stack sizes myself, converter or set it up nicely please.

Re: $10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
So... You've got 88K to start with and he's got 65K? Then I'll just shove pre-flop. No need to get fancy and raise 1/3rd of your stack.

Re: $10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
Sorry Soulman - I did this in a rush last night before going to bed. I had 88K to start with & villain had 65K.
Pants - I did have As, FWIW. |

Re: $10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
I'd fold...he knows you're calling with just about any pp and he pushed anyway.
edit: not having converter got me on the pot odds...umm, so you have to call 35k into a 101k pot? You're way pot committed, call. |

Re: $10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
Folding is really bad. You are getting almost 3-1, which is about your odds against JJ. This could be a stop and go. I think the preflop reraise size is fine, but you have to get the money in on any flop.

Re: $10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
Push preflop, you are way ahead of his range and reraising half his stack isn't the best idea for you because it sets up situations like this.
As played, its definitly a call on the flop though, you are getting more than enough pot odds and I could see him doing this with a hand as weak as Ax, which you have crushed already. |

Snapcall. Can't fold this getting these odds.

Re: $10 rebuy FT - AQ on all low flop
I'm assuming he won't be holding AA/KK/AK here very often, so let's wipe them from contention.
Would 22/33/55 raise/call pre-flop from a straightforward player? Possibly. Would that person push a flop with straight & flush draws around? I'd say so. They may also have made a *very* loose pre-flop call with A4, but I think that is unlikely (and 64 is no chance). IMO his most likely holdings are a PP from 22-JJ. Most likely 22-99 IMO since TT & JJ would've re-raised all-in pre-flop. He *could* have AJ or possibly AT or A9, but I think these holdings are less likely. If I think I have an advantage over the field & folding leaves me with 58K (4/6 & a workable stack) is it possible to lay it down, despite the odds suggesting I have to call? |
