they left a message saying they want to verify some recent activity on my account. yesterday i deposited 500$ check that i received from poker stars. what could the problem be? if they ask me where i received the check what should i say? anyone had this problem.

Tell them it's a refund from your coke dealer. Everything should work out fine.

I use HSBC direct and have never had any problems with PS or even online casino checks.

Tell them that you got sent a payment drawn on an overseas bank. Have them put a hold on the check until it clears. Mine cleared in 2 days. |

[/ QUOTE ] I would say that it is a refund for something you bought and returned online. They will not go into detail about what it is but if you want you could just say it was a computer part or something. They wont launch a full scale investigation on ya my man. Just say its a refund in a calm voice and im sure you wont have a problem. EDIT: Why does everybody have to be a jackass? Why cant you help the guy out and say something constructive instead of badgering the guy. I thought we were all in this together...guess not. |

Who knows if the bank is even calling regarding this check. They deal with millions of them a year. However if they do ask about it; verify that you did deposit the check. If they ask what it was for (which they SHOULDN'T!) then say its a refund (which is technically true). There are a million buinesses out there that could send you checks for an indefinate amount of reasons. There is no need for you to say anymore.
Remember YOU are the CUSTOMER here. I seriously doubt they would ask anything beyond that (assuming that is even the reason they are calling). If they persist in asking questions tell them you will just take your business elsewhere as the nature of the check is none of their business. All that matters to them is that it clears (which it should within three days). |
