Interesting HU hand, top 2 on non-threatening board NLCASH, $200
Villain is fairly weak passive. He has not shown this much aggression on any hand previously.
Full Tilt - No Limit Hold'em HU Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds (LegoPoker HH Converter) Villain (BB): $193.00 Hero (BTN/SB): $398.00 Preflop: Hero is dealt K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img](4 Players) Hero raises to $7.00, Villain calls $5.00 Flop: ($14) 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players) BB checks, Hero checks Turn: ($14) K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets $14, Hero calls $14 River: ($42) Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players) SB bets $42, Hero --- ??? - Call or Raise I usually C-bet that flop, but I've been beating him to death with aggression and decided to switch gears to tone it down to give me credit for some bluffs later on. Obviously I'm at least calling that river... is there any value in shoving? What worse hands call? |

I would have just called, if this his first really aggressive move you probably give him credit for a monster. If youve been hammering away at him he could have easily been slowplaying a set or flopped straight, safe to call and if your beaten you lost the least, if you lose you made the safe play. Realised as making this post that you are playing at a considerably higher blind level than me and have about 3950 more posts than me so take my opinion as you will

I think that is good advice. How often is he calling you PF? Are crappy kicker K and Qs in his range here? I don't see you beating much that calls a raise here, at least not enough to actually raise. |

No K crappy kicker is in his range. Same hand is kinda in his range, but AK is definitely not. K5 and Q5 are outside his raise-calling range as well.
I shared sam's thoughts exactly and called. I think it was the best choice, but am still open for discussion on it. |

Re: Interesting HU hand, top 2 on non-threatening board NLCASH, $200
At first I thought this was a sure raise but the more I looked at the context of the board the less I like it, there arn't really any other 2 pair combos and I think its very unlikely any 1 pair hands are calling your raise here.
Unless you have reason to believe he'll look you up light due to your aggression or possible past bluffs I just call here |
