A couple of months ago I was playing in a live 1/2 NL game at one of the local cardrooms when this hand occurred. It was a 3 handed pot with me, a LAGtard, & a rock. Stacks were fairly deep, probably $250-$500 for everybody at the table. I play a pretty solid, tight game but the rock I have played with a few times & I would seriously doubt that he plays anything but wired pairs QQ+. I have also played with LAGtard a couple of times & he plays alot of pots, doesn't know when to fold, & basically tries to run over the table with aggression. Just throw him some rope & let him hang himself. Anyway...on to the hand.
Me - BTN Laggy - SB...I think, maybe BB Rock - EP...utg maybe. Rock raises to $12, I call with pocket 4's, laggy calls. FLOP: K 5 4 rainbow Laggy leads out for a pot sized bet, Rock min-raises to $70, & I go in the tank. To me, this was a push or fold situation & normally I would beat you in the pot. My thoughts were that laggy could have damn near anything, but a weak K was my first thought but pocket 5's weren't out of the question either. What really scared the bejeezus out of me was the rock? A set of Kings were a real possibility. He didn't ponder his action either...it was an instant min-raise. I hate a min-raise!!! I put him on either AA, set of K's, possibly AK. The rock hadn't been at the table very long so I was going from memory on how he played in the past. He was still as a statue while I was thinking. I only had $12 invested but I think I folded a winnar. Comments? |

[/ QUOTE ] haha, yea, he has to have KK here pretty much to beat you from what you said, is he really raising top set here against a moron when he can let him keep betting off his stack on later streets? Easy push here, he can easily have AA, AK. If you lose it then o well, this push is +EV in the long run no matter what. We need to raise to push out the Lag if he has a draw. |

Terrible laydown with bottom set [/ QUOTE ] fixed your title. Fold pre if youre going to hit your hand and fold to this action. |

I don't think a call is that bad if you're going to be careful of a straight that might hit lagtard.

Raise>>Call>>>Fold
Combos of rocks likely ranges (after flop): AA = 6 combos KK = 1 combo AK = 8 combos Assuming a range of KK+, AK, you will be ahead of the rock 93.3%(14/15) of the time in this spot! Assuming a KK+ range, you will be ahead 85.7% (6/7) of the time! Folding is horrendous! |

yup, mike agreed, we need to raise to push out the draws LAG might have, we are way ahead of everything except KK which is just bad luck if we run into it
if you fold this let me know the tables you play so i can run u over |

You can only play one table at a time. And you wouldn't run me over, trust me. |
