Default June Blackhawk trip-Colorado Micro meet up

I have mentioned this to a few posters I know, and seem to have a good amount of interest. I am planning on heading up to Blackhawk on June 15th for my bday, and would love to have a bunch of CO micro'ers show up to pwn the tables. I haven't looked into room rates, and so haven't decided if we should do a full weekend or not. Also, after looking a bit, it appears that the Lodge has the most tables available. If anyone (Bilgefisher) knows much about the quality of the games at the various casinos, post that here so we can narrow down our choice. I'm thinking that, depending on level of interest, we should also think about x'chnging cell #'s. K, turning the thread loose.

I hit 40 one week earlier than that and am up for it, even though I'll tell everyone to drive slower, quiet down, and eat more bran.

I'm leaning more towards the one night thing than a weekend, I'm not overly rolled for this.

I think my dauughters b-day party is that week end, so it's looking doubtful.

Bump so Jaran can get more indications of interest.

Also (and the real reason), Buzz, I think you thought I was a Brit because you maybe saw on Stars that I was from Westminster. Actually it's a suburb of Denver. Some B.C.ers think I'm near Vancouver.

Ameristar has the most tables (15+). Gilpin is fine for tournaments, sucks for regualr play. I'll comment more after work.

The lodge is ok, but unless they have changed their setup, they only have 4 tables. Seems to be a fairly dead room. The gilpin is also nice but is mostly a tournament poker room. They have 4 regular tables, but even on the weekends I rarely see more then 2 tables going. The tournament tables(20?) are usually full however.

I find the ameristar has the best poker room. The lighting is poor and does result in some glare though. One table is usually going till about 1 or 2pm, then the room fills up fairly quickly with most tables going by around 5 pm. I would suspect this is one most folks from denver are heading up the hill. The tables are mixed between very tight and very loose players. Maybe one or two per table have any skill. Plenty of lagtards though.

Colorado Central station has only a few tables and I have never really liked that room. My opinion of course so others may have a different view.

Thats really it for quality poker rooms. Its a shame cripple creek is so far away. The gilded rose has some very passive loose tables.

I dunno if I'll be able to make it down. I'm working up in Sheridan, Wy right now and an 8-9 hour drive one way doesn't look to inviting. Not so much the drive, but 2-3 tanks of gas.
