Default Rewarding BotCatchers Like SukitTrebek

First of all kudos to SukitTrebek. He looks to have done a great deal of detective work and service to poker community. Also, I'd like to see more of this being done. It would probably be a good idea to encourage more of this if we in the twoplustwo community would each send these botcatchers like SukitTrebek some nominal amount of money, maybe 10 or 20 bucks.

I think thats a pretty bad idea. Would just turn into a witch hunt

also can we not have 500 threads about this issue?

I was going to use the exact same phrase... "witch hunt"

bad idea.

Notoriety is often its own reward, especially in online communities.

Should it not be the site doing the rewarding?

I had the same idea when the party bots were caught but as alobar has mentioned,it would be an ugly scene.

I'd probably make more turning myself in as a bot than playing poker.

Yea, it's crowding out all the great posts about "How do I deposit/withdraw?"

I also think it's probably not the best idea.
But if I was on board I would send him $texas.

FYP

A reward for individuals that find bots is a bad idea, but Trebek should have never had to do this kind of thing in the first place. The sites should either publicly admit that bots are allowed, or clean up the bots themselves.

Trebek's post proves that some sites cannot be trusted to do this. So maybe we need to create an independent bot investigating group. If online poker is ever regulated, sites should fund this group or be denied an operating license.
