this has been my insta-cure for the hiccups and ill share it with the forum.
YELLOWSUB'S RULE OF 22 whenever you get the hiccups, speed is key. you must stop what your doing, and get to work on the second rule promptly (within 22 seconds) once you're not busy, fully concentrate on NOT hiccuping. hiccups occur once every ~7 seconds, and also at ~14 seconds. you can feel them coming on, just dont let yourself hiccup. sometimes holding breath or drinking water helps, but with practice, you wont need these accessories. once you've counted to 22 seconds since your last hiccup, you're free! you will be hiccup free until yer next outbreak. hope this helps. sub |

I've found that it's best for me to wait ~1 minute before I start holding my breath to get rid of them.
Trying to hold my breath right away seems worthless as they're too strong to stop during that first minute. |

don't hiccup. am i missing something here? maybe i'm unusual, but conscious focus is definitely not enough to do the trick. |

Any kind of junk food will cure the hiccups. Doritos are probably the best for this.

Next time your friend has hiccups, ask him in as stern a way as possible, "Hey, don't you owe me money?" I've seen that cure hiccups.
Also holding your breath for 10 seconds and taking a drink of water works sometimes. |

when someone has the hiccups and is looking to get rid of them, i always say, i'll give you $100 if you hiccup right now.. and they never can. problem solved!
