Similar to Matt Flynn's my first contract hit thread, I too have stumbled up on a bird problem.
I get the very unpleasant wake up call this morning at 6 a.m. from a visually challenged bird banging itself into my living room window. Since he kept going for about a half hour, I decided to video tape his shenanigans. Sadly, 3 hours later, he is still banging into the window. video 1 video 2 Any solutions or retaliation ideas are welcome. *warning, some NSFW language in the videos. |

tape something to the inside of the window, like a big cat's mouth or something

Nobody is doubting the bird is retarded. The problem is not the birds vision however. The bird is seeing it's reflection in the window and trying to protect it's territory.

Ha, I loled.
Don't have much advice other than obv I think the bird thinks these square holes are something it can get into on the otherwise large structure of your house/apartment. Or it's just an idiot as you said. I remember someone telling me a while ago about a bird that did a similar thing. At least it's pretty. As are your orchids on canvas. |

What are your thoughts on covering that window while you sleep? That might help...
Maybe a birdfeeder to the right of your window might calm that little guy down? Great videos btw! |

On golf course they put up these owl statues around the green to keep the bird away - might work for you.
