Beat: Miscommunicated with dad
For Christmas, I decided to take my dad and brother to a White Sox game. My dad lost his wife to cancer last year, and I was meeting his new girlfriend for the first time at Christmas. Hence, the gift was originally only for my dad and brother, as kind of a boys night thing.
Just got off the phone with my dad in regards to meeting up at the ballpark. He mentioned having to wait for his girlfriend to get off work, so he wasn't sure if he'd make it to the stadium on time. Obviously, I asked him if he thought she was coming because I only ordered 3 tickets. He was under the impression she was. OOPS. For the record, I like his girlfriend and not inviting her had nothing to do with anything like that. Apparently, my dad thought he asked if I was getting her a ticket and I said yes. I don't remember him asking (and honestly, my memory is better than his), but I suppose that doesn't really matter now. Oh, and there's no way I can get an extra ticket as this is Yankees @ White Sox. If there's tickets left, they're in the upper deck and US Cellular Field doesn't let upper deckians come down to the lower deck. |

I'm thinking about getting them a gift certificate to a nice Italian place. How's my play?
