Default River Overbet by Action Jeff. 140bb\'s deep

Villain is Action Jeff, who is running blistering hot and is a complete luck sack against me so far. He has been active on all my tables, playing back at me some, and I haven't really made a move against him yet. The river is 1100~ to call.

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $5/$10 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter)

SB: $1000
BB: $666.50
UTG: $1223

Important things to note:
What does AJ put me on as an unknown?
Does he expect my range to call here?
What level is he on? *Key to answering first questions*
We are deep so fold equity is higher.
That being said, turn/river are obviously bad for me.

More on my thoughts later.

depends on your 3-betting range, but i would imagine -

88, 99, JJ-10-10, AK/AQ/AJ etc, suited connectors/air, and sometimes flush. More to the point, he knows you almost never have a full house or better

I've never played cash with Jeff so I'm not sure of his style, but it is pretty obvious you never have a boat here.

I really don't see him playing a set like this on the flop or turn, imo his hand looks alot like JJ. Obv flushes make up a decent portion of his range too.

I fold this pretty quickly, but I'm a nit.

um, how many hands is he check-calling the flop with and checking the turn which are behind AJ on the river? I guess he could have 67 and 66-99. Seems like too much to hope he's got one of these hands

btw, if he thinks AJ is the best possible hand you could have, and if I'm right in that the only part of his range worse than AJ is 67/66-99, then the game-theoretic play for him is to push his whole range, and the game-theoretic play for you is to fold your whole range. So IMO you are exploitable if you do ever call this

edit: oh yeah it doesn't make much sense for him to think you don't have an overpair. nm then i guess

too bad we're playing for money instead of game-theory brownie points. i don't think he pushes a naked T or a flush that often because OP never really has a hand to call.

Your hand is pretty well defined - once you check behind on the turn, it looks a lot like an overpair or something of the sort. Definitely nothing too strong.

lol?
