Stars 27s: Improving itm distribution
So I have a decent sample of my recent playing style at the stars 27s (2k games). My itm distribution is as follows:
1st 14.5 2nd 11.5 3rd 11.1 Being that the payouts are topheavy, it seems reasonable to try to take more thirds which in turn would increase my firsts and bring down my 2nds. Anyone have some rough examples of 3-handed situations where it might be advisable to go for a bit cheekier double up in order to take a stab at the first? Thanks much. |

I haven't done the math but this dist looking pretty sweet at first glance. Is that a 8% ROI or so?

yeah im brain dead now and cant really accurately analyze that but grunchingly any distribution with more 1sts>2/3rd is a good distribution.

Re: Stars 27s: Improving itm distribution
What is your % for 4ths? Your ITM is a little low at 37.1%.
But you're winning. 7.6% is better than 0%. |

Re: Stars 27s: Improving itm distribution
My style has been tweaked a little bit over the last ~400 games of the 2k sample, improving for sure, but maintaining similar shape. Here is everything 1st->9th:
14.5 11.5 11.1 12.8 12.1 12.8 10.5 8.9 5.8 Thoughts on which direction I should try to make these go? I'm working on bringing 6th down and 5th up a bit, and I want my 3rds to go up so 1sts go up....those are my thoughts. Others? |

Re: Stars 27s: Improving itm distribution
seems like you have far too many 7ths and 6ths really. I usually get a ton of 5ths/4ths and the result is that my 1sts% goes way up as I'm exploiting bubble play and trying to build a stack so I have a good shot to win. Seems like a fine distribution other than I think you probably should have less early bustouts and more mid bustouts. Since your 1st percentage is the highest of any finish, it signifies you are doing something right. Perhaps you are going into pushbot mode too soon and that results in too many 8-6th places or maybe you are playing too much small ball poker early. What is your vpip/pfr/total AF?

What is your vpip/pfr/total AF? [/ QUOTE ] 21.36/15.36/2.49 My 6ths used to be super high and my 5ths were really low, then 4ths were higher as well. It was a funny graph. I stopped donking away chips at 50/100 and 5ths are going up now and 6ths are coming down. Any thoughts on the itm part? I'm suspicious of those 2nds being higher than firsts. Seems like thirds should be higher than seconds. |
