Live NL $1/$2, KK on draw heavy Board
Showboat NL $1/$2. Villain has been at table for about 10-12 hands. When he sat down he was complaining that there was a $5/$10 game running but no $2/$5. He has been very active/aggressive raising first-in two or three times, limping about 3 or 4 others and calling raises. He has consistently made CBets when checked to him.
Hero has played two hands against him, abandoning a CBet after a flop call then check/folding the turn, and another hand betting the turn after making a CBet on the flop, to which villain folded. I'll take this one street at a time. SB: Hero (seat 10): $234 BB: Villain (seat 1): about $245 Two limps to Hero who has K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. <font color="red">Hero raises to $16.</font> Villain calls. 2 folds. Flop ($36): J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Hero ? |

I'd bet from $25 to $30. Probably closer to $30.

Pot it. Maybe even overbet a little. This villian is probably calling you pretty lightly as he appears to be playing below his normal game and is here to gamble.

$30 looks good to me. I think an overbet screams "I have an overpair."

Slight correction. Villian complained that the $5-$10 n/l game broke up. He played the $5-$10 n/l game three handed before it broke. As for the hand. Preflop, I like the raise to $16. I would have bet have bet between $40-$80 on the flop. With a board that coordinated, I would not mind winning $20 less bad beat jackpot rake and tokee with an overbet. |
