Guy on monkey tilt, huge overbet, MHIG?
$1/2NL 6-max game
Villain is on crazy monkey tilt and is also a huge fish. 10 min prior to this hand he had $500+, lost $200 to the other huge fish at the table, then started his tilty rampage. He soon gets stacked by a TAG for a $600+ pot w/air, buys in for $100, loses it in like 3 hands, then buys in for another $200 when this hand comes up: Villain $198 Hero covers Dealt to hero on B: K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Pre-flop: fold to Hero who raises $7, Villain re-raises to $31 in SB, BB folds, Hero calls $24 I almost always fold KJs here, but I really can't give this guy any credit given his current state. Flop: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Villain bets $155, Hero? I really think my hand is good here. I don't see this guy making such a rediculous bet with a made hand. It's obv shove or fold. Thoughts? |

Re: Guy on monkey tilt, huge overbet, MHIG?
I think it comes down to your instinct here, he could very well be bluffing, but your hand isn't exactly great and he could have hit the flop. I think you call and pray.
Not much help I know. |

Re: Guy on monkey tilt, huge overbet, MHIG?
I'll usually fold to the re-raise preflop unless you know EXACTLY how easily this guy is going to play and give his stack away. You can pick better spots.
Flop is indeed a tough decision, but I'd probably fold. If you can't "see this guy making such a ridiculous bet with a made hand", then you should go with your instinct and call. EDIT: Also, in my experience, if a guy is tilting bad and overbets, it's very frequently a big hand. This seems especially true if the tilting person is usually a good, solid player. |

Let's say you strongly feel you have the best hand here. How many of you still fold?

Let's say you strongly feel you have the best hand here. How many of you still fold? [/ QUOTE ] If I strongly feel I have the best hand then I'll call in each and every situation. When someone offers you 1:1 and I feel that I'm a greater than 50% favorite, then calling is +EV even if the pot size is $0. EDIT: Unless I feel that I can get the same money in when I'm an even bigger favorite. When playing poker with more than one other person, this is not always guaranteed. |

Re: Guy on monkey tilt, huge overbet, MHIG?
..i think this is completely read dependent, and youre biasing the hand by jading us
personally, id wait for a better spot than kj, even knowing his state, but whatever; its a high variance play if you have a read, go with it shove |
