Check flop in 3bet pot?
Only been at the table for 20 hands or so but UTG is like 30/20 so far, so has been playing a little LAgish, Ive been playing tight/tag no big pots yet.
Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.50/$1 Blinds - 5 Players - (LegoPoker HH Converter) SB: $104.95 BB: $226.40 UTG: $118.05 CO: $170.40 Hero (BTN): $98.50 Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 Players) UTG raises to $3.50, CO calls $3.50, Hero raises to $15.50, 2 folds, UTG calls $12, CO calls $12 Flop: ($48) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 Players) UTG checks, CO checks, I thought a check might be a good play here. Do you guys like a bet here or a check and for what reason? |

Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
I'd probably check against one opponent, but against two, I'm betting.

Fair enough, but I checked, and then...

Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
I would probably shove the river after you played your hand like this. 3betting the flop IP then checking the ace hi board 3 way would indicate that you've got a hand like TT-KK. Your weak bet on the turn only corroborates this fact even more, so when he leads here on the river I would shove and hope to get value from possibly AQ/AJ if he calls those preflop, and potentially a hand like KK/QQ.

Re: Check flop in 3bet pot?
Bet flop and turn.
The biggest mistake SSNLers do is calling too much so unless you don't bet they can't call. I'd check the turn at times to induce a river bet from a very agressive opponent. I bet this flop 100% of the time against 2 opponents. They expect you to bet with any hand you have so don't dissapoint them. Your bet tell them nothing about your hand strength. |
