I was sitting beside a typical New Jersey grinder, he knew all the dealers and the one at our table he played w/ in home games outside of Atl City....we talked about poker, girls, and life...both being friendly, but i was still focused on playing good poker..... after 2 hrs of play, he started showing me his hands
He'd show me a bluff when he'd check-raise w/j high, etc, etc Then he raised 5x the BB UTG (I'm sitting to his right and last to act)....as the table folds, he shows me his 9/9 it gets to me and i shove with QQ.....since i've seen his hand (that he willingly showed me) he goes into the tank and says your trying to get me to fold...you have AK finally this jackass calls....flops the 9 and felts me should I have flat called and make sure he doesnt flop a set or play an all-in pot as a 7:1 favorite??? |

You're saying that your buddy showed you his hand before you were to act and then you shoved QQ. For how much? Didn't anyone at the table notice that he showed you his hand and now you are pushing? Isn't it illegal to show a person a hand before he is to act? Then, you got his $$ in and he sux and he called and you're upset that you got it all in as an 80/20 favorite? And where does 7:1 come in? NNEEEEH HUUUUH NNNNEEEEH HUUUUH eeeh huuuh this post sux.

You think the guy would FOLD rather than suspect a 15th level bluff lol |

I'm pretty sure he cheated.
He knew the dealers. He gets 99 and shows you. You have QQ so naturally you shove, he 'tanks' and flops the 9. hmm.... |

[/ QUOTE ] C'mon, seriously. I'm really surprised that you would draw this conclusion so quickly. There's no other explanation you can come up with other than the dealer and player are colluding against you? Really? The guy flopped a set on you + he knew the dealer = cheating? At least tell us what stakes you were playing at and how much the pot was. You think you were a 7:1 favorite here (LOL), which tells me your experience level is probably not all that great, so it was probably 1/2NL. I seriously doubt that too many Borgata dealers would risk their jobs (the best tokes in town by a lot) over a cut over the kind of pots at those limits. Sorry, that theory needs a lot more work. |
