Default the USA will not win another world war...

because rock music and rap music has made its young men hate its government and they lack patriotism for their country, and they will not be willing to storm any beaches because everyone saw the dozens of world war II films and they dont want to get slaughtered like that... therefore the USA will have to resort to nuclear warfare (unsurprisingly).

Any serious war between nuclear powers will result in nuclear war. Anyone who believes otherwise is naive, violence only begets violence and escalation.

What nuclear power would surrender without first excercising its nuclear option? There will never again be another "World War" in the classic sense, because any such war would inevitably go nuclear.

lol @

rock and rap making people hate the government. i mean, really, they have been saying that crap forever. there are plenty of ppl who would die for the country if push came to shove, come now

lol @ having seen some movies. 1: wars arent fought like that anymore, tactics have changed substantially with increased air power. 2: who would we fight in ww3? china? as other posters have said, nuclear issue complicates just how that war takes place

A largescale military conflict with China would be very difficult for US Armed Forces. Assuming both countries were sane enough to agree to stay "nonnuclear" China would be fighting primarily from home areas and US Forces would have to fight across very long, vulnerable supply lines in direct range of Chinese Mainland defences. It's not a pretty scenario no matter how you weigh it up. Add to this China's intense focus on military revitalization through technology and training (one need only look at their Naval expenditures and improvements) which will possibly give them the world's 2nd most powerful navy within 5years and possibly the MOST powerful navy within 20-30 years. Assessing all of this, The US's chances at defeating China in a coventional conflict go down with the passage of time. The US should become either close allies with China or engage in a historic level of military buildup. I don't see how, in the current political environment, the buildup is going to occur, so our diplomats should stop bickering with the Chinese over minor issues and work hard to reach common ground and allied status with China.

The only other significant largescale conventional threat in the near to distant future would be a United Europe, which seems unlikely any time soon as European States continue to bicker over the tiniest of internal issues and it would be quite sometime before they could ever produce a unified military threat. Add to this the liklihood that Britain would once again probably be a holdout in The US camp and it doens't seem too probable.

i guess i dont know that much about nukes. but if there is a nuclear war, doesnt the world end? i always figured that polititions understood that they were just sending poor people to die in war and that is OK - the polititions dont want to end the world, they just want to make money.
