Default Trip 4\'s

Ive been at the table 1 orbit. SB seems fairly loose and passive. My notes on MP are agressive pf decent postflop. I have him 19/17. But thats limited to 75 hands and I honestly don't remember the name.

I agree raising the turn is correct. I feared the 5 from this guy. Can't really say why. Just the way he played that first orbit and a touch of mubs. I think I should have raised the turn called the 3 bet, and called river. In this hand I simply called down. I was hoping to pair the board on the river.

The Sb had 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] fwiw, but the turn raise is still correct.

I also call the turn. MP2 likely has a hopeless hand like AK or AQ and is hoping to get to showdown for 2 more bets. If you raise , he is likely to fold, and you want his dead money going in on the river.

If you feel you are ahead and want to raise, by waiting for the river you get an extra BB from MP2 (maybe even 2 if he decides to call "one more bet in a big pot"). If you are behind you lose the same regardless of whether you raise the turn or river.

And to top it all off, your hand is pretty well hidden if you fill up on the river, potentially allowing you to get in a cap. Personally, I am probably just calling the river unless I improve, or I have good reason to believe SB is a spaz.

Overlay = Overcall = Calling after someone else has called.

I raise again on the turn. With SB being passive, I think the only hands to worry about are A5, 55, and 65, and even then, I wouldn't expect him to bet the flop with those. I think a more likely hand is an ace that picked up a spade draw, maybe A2, or a stop and go with a set or flopped two pair, all of which we beat except AA. As for MP2, I figure him for a strong ace, probably AQ or AJ, or a big pocket pair that he doesn't want to fold, either KK or JJ.

Since you didn't raise the turn, I kinda want to raise the river since I still think we're good. Definitely call the river bet though.

overcall the turn, mehhh on the river, overcall or maybe raise but i wouldn't want to fold to a 3bet even though it's probably right.

Thats a good point on the passive play. Probably the play i should have made. My initial read turned out to be incorrect. After few more rounds with this guy, he turned out to be very passive pf and loose. He also turned out to be a complete moron post flop. I watched him raise a tight pf raiser on a A33 board with 22. He would bluff raise alot. He was 66/0/2.5 After 50 hands or so.

How would your play change based off this?
