registering your own domain name - recommendations?
I know Godaddy is fashionable - thinking if there's anyone better -
I'll also need a place to host the website - Yahoo is too expensive in my book - so I'm just looking for a good cheap web hosting solution rb |

Re: registering your own domain name - recommendations?
I really like GoDaddy. When I saw your title, I was hoping to be able to recommend them; when I see that you're asking if there's anything better, I guess my answer is "no".

There's another thread in CTH about hosting, with a link. -Sam |

1and1.com is the best.

1and1.com is the best. [/ QUOTE ] 1and1 is not. They auto charge you for renewals and services, and good luck transferring a domain away from them, or even canceling your service, you have to jump through hoops, by far the worst host/registrar I've used. |

Re: registering your own domain name - recommendations?
HostGator and Bluehost are very very good (and cheap). I started out with some other host, but realized that they were really compared to my current solution (hostgator).
Edit: I use namecheap for registering new domains (google for coupons) . Its best to use a separate company to buy your domain, incase you decide to change hosts. |
