Re: Looking for a Stud book
IMO, Seven Card Stud for Advanced Players (Sklansky, Malmuth, Zee) is the best book out there on the game. For lower limits, some also like Roy West's book, but I never read it.

Re: Looking for a Stud book
Andy B made an ultimate stud book thread. Use the search engine and find that.

Re: Looking for a Stud book
I have read Chip Reese's section in SS1 and I'm currently reading Seven Stud for Advanced Players. Go with Seven Stud for Advanced Players. Chip's section is great, just not enough info to compare with the other book. Chip's section I believe is less than 100 pages, whereas the other book is close to 300 pages. You will be getting 200 pages more quality information and advice. I'm enjoying the book and I believe you will too.
By the way I posted the same topic a few months ago and was recommended Seven Stud for Advanced Players by the majority and have not been misguided in my opinion. |

Roy West "7-Card Stud" covers the very basics. I found it very helpful.

Re: Looking for a Stud book
Chip Reese's section in SS is a great introductory read for 7CS. Along with Doyle's NLH section, it should stand the test of time. These two chapters still make SS a good purchase.
I would pay top dollar if Chip Reese ever wrote a whole book on 7CS. |
