Call me dense but I don't understand his point. Is he saying to stop calling down the LAGs, or to do it every time. Or what?

he's saying call them down and dont fret about it. sometimes youll lose to them several times in a row, but in the long term it's +EV.

[/ QUOTE ] IMO if you were to choose one "always," I'd rather "always" checkraise a preflop LAG on every flop and bet every turn, than check call every flop and turn vs them. Most of them adjust accordingly to the guy that is always calling them down, but have a hard time adjusting to the guy who's fighting back at them postflop. edit: i don't know why i quoted your post now. i was basically just speaking in a hypothetical world where you had to choose one route or the other, with no middle-ground. |

i think it's written more for beginner/intermediate players than for us mike. i dont think he's saying always do anything. it's more of a psychology article. he's saying dont worry about calling lags or regret it.
yes firing back is a great way to tame lags, plus it has the added benefit of oftentimes making them even laggier. lags love it when they perceive someone else to be a lag who will duel with them. |
