I think someone is messing with me, google is being redirected
For some reason whenever I try and connect to www.google.com my computer automatically connects to www.alltheweb.com. It still says www.google.com in the address bar, and other google services like gmail load normally. Even when I try and ping www.google.com in the command prompt, it replies from the same IP address as alltheweb. So it's like whenever I type google I actually typed alltheweb. Even the google toolbar is searching through alltheweb. I think someone is messing with me and setup my computer to do this. I doubt it is a virus, because if it were it would probably have a bigger effect and probably wouldn't just redirect me to another search engine.
How could someone do this, and what can I do to fix it? I'm connected on a home network through a router and cable modem. I logged into my router and reset everything to default, but it's still happening. Any ideas? |

Have a read of this (about hosts files). Likely your problem:

Oh, that was easier than I thought, thanks. I remember that system32/drivers/etc folder being open on my computer yesterday, but I didn't know why.
