Default 50NL: I c/r and thus pay $25 for information

I haven't played much with this guy, but he seems on the tight side of tight. Doesn't get involved in many pots, always comes in for a raise, c-bets most of the time, folds on scary boards, etc.

I guess the only other way to play this is to donk the flop, and fold to a raise or c/f the turn UI, yes? In general, is this c/r burning money or going to be profitable?

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
5 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $68.15
CO: $55.20
Button: $92.05
Hero: $50.50
BB: $69.85

Pre-flop: (5 players) Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
3 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $2</font>, <font color="#cc0000">BB raises to $6</font>, Hero calls.

Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($12, 2 players)
Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">BB bets $8</font>, <font color="#cc0000">Hero raises to $24</font>...

Against a TAG/nit, I think you're burning dough here with the CR.

a) Nits/TAGs dont C-bet high cards nearly as often as other players
b) They don't reraise PF nearly as often with high cards
c) His raise to 6$ screams of big pair to me, not high cards. I think he's trying to sucker you in.

If you don't C/f the flop, then donk 8 and give up.

If he's really on the tight side of tight, I think you're burning money. The only hand he's folding here is AK. Maybe AQ if that's in his range, but I see too many tight players not even 3betting AQ against a steal.

Once you C/R are you planning to fold to a psuh??? You have put 60% of your stack...

I prefer to call the flop bet and see what he does on the turn...Most TAGs/nits will not fire twice with UI overs..This line I think gets you the same info and costs you less..Down side is giving over the turn card..

Spew. He's never folding a better hand here... you can fold out AK/AQ and risk less with b/f or c/f flop, bet turn. c/f flop is weak and shouldn't be your standard but is probably better than c/r on this flop.

You dont raise for information, you raise for value, isolation or as a bluff/semibluf.

Really? And all this time I thought it was for info, and that the info was worth it, and that I could make a completely non-sarcastic thread title to make sure that it was worth it.

Thanks for the heads-up.

I am not completely sure how to see this, probably cause of my lack of knowledge about the english language.
But you just bought yourself a $24 dollar piece of information, where you could have got the same by frontbetting the flop. If your hand is best it is not a info bet it is a value bet. If he has a better hand he will reraise you, for value, if he is calling with a worse hand he just gave you your value.

Totally agree...
You need to frontbet here and fold to a raise probably, your facing a RIO situation here. WA/WB and with raising u gain nothing and only busting AK non club.

I should frontbet, or maybe c/c the flop and reevaluate the turn.
