Wainwright to the rescue
great pitching
great defense
the 1-2-3 doubleplay on the squeeze was beautiful

Offense exploded for 4 runs today

.500 would be a successful season.

Management simply can't be given enough abuse to allow the OF to enter the season in this shape. Especially since I assume TLR let them know he was gonna inexplicably platoon Duncan again. I was pseudo ok with the lack of pitching signings, but the OF is a joke and kills any chance they have this year.

Duncan batted against a lefty tonight

had some good hits

I agree with you on the OF. Edmonds has been on his last leg for quite some time now.

Finally TLR moves Clutch Yadi up to the 6 spot. I feel so much better about our chances now, assuming he doesn't move him back down.

Obviously Ankiel isn't going to stay this good over a long period of time, but can he keep this pace for 1 more month? Or is he destined to crash and burn in the next couple of weeks?
