Default Has allowing anyone to post here cheapened this forum?

The concept of only David creating new threads here but allowing anyone to post was novel and interesting. Now, it seems, there is little difference between the "Special Slansky Forum" and OOT other than that David still creates a small percentage of the threads, and that he's far more likely to read the other threads here than he is in OOT.

It seemed better to me when only David could create threads. Maybe I'm in the minority here with this opinion, but if you disagree with me, please explain why, at any given time, there are far fewer people in this forum than there used to be.

Just some food for thought.

Yes there are a lot of posters who are obviously newbies to the game cheapening up the forum. the thread on your favorite hand makes me wish it was moved to \Texas Hold'em General because its too dumb.

[/ QUOTE ]Hell, I wrote it and I agree with you. I thought when I messed up the mods would move it.

I think a minimum post count is better than what it is now. Like you have to have 500+ posts to start a thread.

concurred.
Prob be nice to have mods just move threads into the proper forums all the time but many gray areas.

Let's see: we were having threads about gay showers, teaching an average joe to shoot freethrows, comparison of male and female athletes, etc.

Right, let's not do anything to cheapen these great discussions.

Go back to DS only. Even if he has to post less often. Or, take long breaks.

The thing is, well crafted questions with hidden intent are, at the very least, great mental exercise. Oh wait, we were talking about the Special Sklansky forum.

Never mind.

It's actually worse than OOT. The availability of this forum for people to ask very normal poker questions that belong in their respective poker oriented forums is bad. I'm sure the guy who posted the "New Here. Questions" thread means well, but it's just noise here and would be fine in "beginners," or "small stakes", or any number of other places.

If I didn't know any better, I'd probably do the same thing. Why post a question about AKo missing the flop in a forum of nobodies when I can post in the "Sklansky" forum and find out from the guru himself.

I'd prefer to go back to the old way.
