Vegas May 4-6?
Going with the wife to Vegas on May 4-6 (which means I am limited to playing poker from midnight to 4 AM)
Anyhow, room rates are outrageous that weekend, higher than the surrounding weekends (I have a room at the former Barbary Coast for $190/nt). Is there a reason for these higher rates? I didn't see a big convention on the convention web site though. Boxing match? MMA? Any other hotel tips? Poker room rate is out because my wife doesn't want me playing that much since she doesn't gamble and doesn't want to be left alone all the time. |

Well, it is Cinco de Mayo weekend, one of the year's biggest party times, in one of the nation's biggest party cities...

Re: Vegas May 4-6?
It's not just any boxing match. It's Floyd Mayweather vs. Oscar de la Hoya! I'm planning on goin that weekend too.
Sorry to post-jack, but do Wynn and Caesars still offer their usual poker rate(199) for big weekends? I wanna stay there, but my friends think it's too expensive. I'm gonna try and convince them. If not, I guess I'll be staying at that Best Western off the strip lol. |

Re: Vegas May 4-6?
You can probably book at the Wynn through the poker room for $199/night. Then explain to your wife that this requires you to play poker at least 6hrs/day, but that you are willing to sacrifice so that she can stay at a nice place.
