Default Open ender I think I played wrong

Final table of the FT 22k - most of table seemed tight. What should my action be on the flop, what's my action to a jam? Thanks!

why are you calling an EP raise with an effective stack 18BBs deep with such a crummy hand? What kind of flop were you looking for when you called?

Fold preflop. As played, check/raise allin if you think he'll cbet whiffed, or just check/fold if he jams or makes a cbet >2/3 pot or if he isn't going to bet with air. If he checks behind, do what radii said

Thanks for responses, I ended up betting pot after the flop. I knew as soon as I hit enter it was the wrong play. His J10 held up... GG me.

Boy, I think this is an interesting hand.

Personally, I think I muck 80% of the time, and shove 20%.

You probably had a gut feel that this was a pretty loose raise, and the fact that it was JT makes that pretty evident. Perhaps the best play if he is that loose raising is to resteal and shove over him, he folds you win 30k. He doesnt fold and your Q9s actually probably has enough overlay in the pot to be a solid play.

Regardless, I sure as sh*t wouldnt call preflop. How am I going to make any money with Q9s out of position with thin stacks?

So here is some sample math on a resteal:

Say he open raises 30% and calls 15% with a shove.

Half the time you win 45k = +22.5k chips
The other half you are called and are a 35/65 dog for 383k in the pot ((154-134) /2))= -10k

Thus this resteal would be +EV if he calls with about half of the range he open raises with. I personally think he calls tighter than that even compared with how wide he might open raise here, and might well shove here, at least as some percentage of the time I get in this situation. It is pretty thin tho, as Q9s is just such a dog to the calling range, and we are playing for such a big amount of chips, and our seat allows us to open fold to a few places higher. Thus I am sticking with my original answer, Fold 80%, reShove 20%, Flat call out of position with crummy cards, 0%.

this was a clear fold preflop, you shouldnt have gotten into this situation in the first place, especially so deep in a tournament!
as played id c/f unless he bets a really small amount to justify calling with an open ender, else clear fold and keep your chips cause you still have plenty to play and wait for better spots.
