Default 10/25 vs maxEmus

At first i liked, and my friends did too. Now, I'm not too sure. I figured maxEmus sometimes checks AK, AQ there, and is also capable of dbl barreling there a good % of the time. I guess the big question is if he bets 99-KK and if he'd call my push with them.

Hero is at seat 0 with $1935.
fedexit12 is at seat 1 with $8266.50.
Bella Di Gio is at seat 2 with $2951.
ubRunner is at seat 3 with $2770.
CloseUrEyes is at seat 4 with $15083.10.
maxEmus125 is at seat 5 with $2732.
The button is at seat 1.

Bella Di Gio posts the small blind of $10.
ubRunner posts the big blind of $25.

Hero: 9s Js
fedexit12: -- --

Flop (board: 3h 8h 4s):

lol ya dood cmon did u see u have J high??? omgomg is this a value shove or a bluff? it is better 2 just play tight abc poker with sometimes a reraise with a less than group 1 hand. do you know what ev is stealthcow? u should read theory of poker and stick to lower limits.

edit: o i see u prolly thought u had a flush on the turn - but u only have a draw. u shouldnt raise with draws because u dont have a good hand yet.

I like this, If villain is good he knows that an ace is a good card to two barrell and without history he will have a hard time looking you up with 99-kk and a lot of aces. Even if you get called you have 9 outs.

Why is there all this retarded clutter in the HSNL forum now?

I really hate this. Does he know if you just flat sets on flops like this? Does he know you float? I dont think the Ace changes much really. What ace are you calling the flop with? I know he is definately capable of betting scare cards on the turn. Your line really looks fishy. I would not be surprised if he looked you up lighter than an ace here

Think this will get looked up more than not...First off, as others explained it is unlikely A helped you given i doubt you will flat call AK, AQ type hands preflop on button with them, and you probably fold weaker aces given preflop raise from UTG(of course these are all assumptions)...therefore villian has no reason to believe A helped you in any way. On the other hand is is more likey a big part of his range. Now, onto pot size...after your push there is over $3000 in pot and only 1200 for him to call, given this it would be an insta call if he has A in his hand..also, with out goin into detail your range is made up with a much higher percentage of draw type hands then it is sets, so given history and whether you push draws or not then it should be an easy call for him getting the pot odds he is.

dunno if this helps much, but i usually play what i consider to be pretty straightforward. Also, maxEmus and i have very little history as i do practice some form of table selection.

I obv. think this is a great card for him to dbl barrel on. And i think there is a chance he check calls or c/rs a strong ace on this turn. So yea, i expect if he has an Ace he doesn't lay it down. And yes, i def will occasionally call with a set here on the flop. If i have some free time i'll try and put a range on him and see how the math works out.

I think the big question is if he calls or folds KK-99.

I don't think this is the big question - if he is going to call any ace, he is smart enough to realize KK-99 are identical. I think the big question is if he bets the turn with those hands. If he bets them, I think he is planning on calling the shove.

I think he usually would not bet them or an ace, so I like the shove.
