pair + draw, but i hate all my options
no reads. i dont know what he will fold on the turn that he calls with on the flop. big part of his range is AJ, KJ, QJ, TJ, QT, and J9. most likely he is not folding any of these hands for a turn bet. but i also cant check-fold, can i? and check calling is kinda sketchy and might even be bad.

i like c/c too. there's still some chance you're ahead so you don't mind letting him bet.

Agree, mostly c/c turn, c/f river UI with some exceptions.

Re: pair + draw, but i hate all my options
With no other information available to me, I would actually go for the Check-Raise as a defensive play in case your straight does not pan out.
A correct Pot-Odds bet of $24 (10 outs) would not only raise suspect, it looks weak, and in turn might give him the right odds to call. If he Re-Raises you, A fold IMO would be the correct play. On the River, you can check when you miss your draw and he is more then likely to check also, unless he has a strong hand, like QT, JJ, 99, 44. (T7, J4, 94 does not make much sense with the pre-flop call of your raise) If he has AJ, KJ, QJ he is more then likely too scared to face another check-raise, or be happy to just limp in and take the pot if he has the better hand. |
